I just wanted to share some feedback about the great job Tim did bringing our CASA Playhouse to life. He was timely with his design, passionate about the details, and focused on delivering the highest quality Playhouse possible. He has a unique ability to keep people on track while also creating relationships and fostering teamwork.

We are proud to stand with OMNIPLAN on this worthwhile endeavor to give back to our community.

Tim has a great degree of maturity, which can be expected of a student pursuing their second degree. His maturity positively influenced his ability to follow direction, to clarify directives, to receive criticism, and to offer design options in response to critique. Tim’s maturity was also expressed in his work discipline – since he was putting himself through architecture school, he understands the value of time. Tim also has the ability to discuss design and to advance a building design scheme that far exceeds the ‘typical’ ... frankly, if your firm needs someone with Tim’s skills, abilities, and work ethic, you’re missing an awesome opportunity if you don’t make him an offer!

I supervised Tim in his position as an At-Home Advisor with Apple. He was consistently a top performer and showed leadership through example by offering his assistance to his peers when needed. Tim responds extremely well to coaching, following instruction and making improvements quickly. He showed his understanding towards both the technical and soft skills needed to be successful here by self-evaluating in order to make the necessary changes. Tim shows his hunger for knowledge and self improvement by doing deep dives on topics that he feels can use some additional resources and information so that he can share it with those around him.

In all aspects Tim has proven to be an exemplary designer and thinker. The key word to describe Tim’s approach is ‘challenge’. During my twelve years teaching across three institutions, he is by far one of the most willing to embrace complexity, unfamiliarity, and new territory. His willingness to meaningfully communicate makes for better teachers, thinkers, and partners in dialog. Tim’s challenging nature is precisely balanced by his good will and even temperament. His patient and precise ability to communicate both in spoken and graphic form demonstrates an ability to and intentionally craft statements. Tim’s architectural work continued these tendencies as an extension of his words, rarely duplicating but adding meaning where statements fail. This keen understanding of the representational artifact as a tool for communication allows Tim to engage projects on a more serious and substantial level than most of his colleagues. I have a great appreciation for the issues Tim’s work brought to the surface and have no doubt that he will continue and refine his approach in practice.

I first met Tim in the fall of 2017 as he arrived to Auburn University’s Urban Studio, having already heard good things about him, and as I would soon find out, he would meet and exceed my expectations. As a student, Tim was organized, confident and dedicated to his work. His work demonstrated a level of professionalism not often seen in student work. When tasked with group projects, Tim would immediately accept the leadership or mentorship role of the team. After graduation, I have watched Tim continue to grow and mature as a designer. He continues to give back to his community and mentor students through volunteer efforts ... I can say with confidence Tim would be an asset to any firm.
